Ján Ludvík Hyman Binyamin Hoch, later known as Robert Maxwell, media mogul and former British parliamentarian, launched his empire with Pergamon Press in the late 1940s, a publishing giant by the 1960s shaping British-American culture. From 1964 to 1970, he served as Labour MP for Buckingham—a role that raised his stature, though he left no major legislative mark.
